In the exhibition ‘OPTUR’, the cabinetmaker Teis Dich Abrahamsen and the designer Leise Dich Abrahamsen have constructed bespoke complex ball tracks and created big new works of art characterized by an interplay of colours and form and with a shared focus on the quirky, the surprising with an abundance of sensory exuberance.
The installations celebrates the immediate pleasure and enjoyment of forms in motion and colours in interaction. The exhibition offer skew and surprising constellations, made to speak to the visitors’ sense of wonder, shaped by the differences and similarities in the sister and brothers approach to materials.
Leise Dich Abrahamsen operates in a world of colours and compositions, and throughout her career she has refined the aesthetic experience of the pared-down expression that has become her hallmark.
When Teis Dich Abrahamsen makes his ball tracks, it is driven by his inherent curiosity about techniques, construction and wood as a material and by the pleasure of passing that insight and curiosity on to an audience.
The competencies of the two artists cover a wide span, and their professional backgrounds and experiences combined with an enviable sense of curiosity and a degree of inventiveness that are clearly manifested in the exhibited works.
