Metal Bench (OS)

When Ole Schjøll showed A. Petersen his Wire Table back in 2016, he also presented his Metal Bench. It was originally conceived and designed for a competition to make public seating for Copenhagen’s main pedestrianized street, Strøget. The metal bench was near to Ole’s heart, and ever since, it has been on display at A. Petersen, sparking inquiries from clients: was it for sale, was it possible to buy one? However, A. Petersen only had the one bench, so it was not for sale. The clients were right, though: it has a simple yet sophisticated and elegant form. The double arches between the seat and legs are quite obviously a good choice: it works! When April Coffee opened its third coffee shop, the setting was in a central Copenhagen location and the interior design was by A. Petersen. The metal bench occupied a prominent position as a bright yellow burst of energy just inside the door of the coffee shop. With this, the bench was revived and is now part of A. Petersen's collection. As a special option, Metal Bench is also presented in a hand-polished stainless-steel version. This version shows off the blacksmith’s craftsmanship from its most insisting side: it takes three days to hand-polish the bench to a shine so deep you can see your face in it. Metal Bench in handpolished stainless steel is produced by Stål&Form. The powder coated version is produced by Gladsaxe Klip og Buk and finished by Næstved Pulverlakering. Available in handpolished stainless steel and a powder coated version in RAL1021 (yellow), RAL 5017 (blue) and RAL 3002 (red)
